sun and moon exercise

Briefly, the Sun&Moon exercise requirement is to create a Sun&Moon symbol for a post production studio/ company which specializes in editing film and sound. The symbol is to be used on a website.

Following the instruction, I began with sketching out as many ideas of how Sun&Moon can be positioned next to each other as I can. For example, the first and second left pictures, some of my drafts.

<-- This idea have been chosen after all.

The reason for my choice:
At first I just by chance drew the moon inside the sun shape, for the fact that the sun's real size is a lot bigger than the moon's. Furthermore, positioning the moon and the sun together in that way reminds me the idea of eclipse, which is one of really rare events people can meet in life. The meaning of eclipse in the symbol is like a promise that Sun&Moon will become an unique company which is not the same with any other company.

Suddendly, I realized the position also looked like a smiling face emoticon. This emoticon is perfectly representing human happy emotion, which - firstly suitable with the suggestion of the exercise guidance, adding "anthropomorphization" into the logo, secondly bringing the friendly and joyful feeling into the logo, which will be used for a post production company in entertainment industry. In general, the logo contains a meaning that this is the unique company which truly cares about the audience and promisingly produces great movies bringing people happiness.

<-- This is the shape of the finished logo I've sketched.

To presenting the company is working in film production industry, the Sun&Moon symbol has been put inside a square piece of film.

And here the final results with Adobe Illustrator
3 same logos with some different arrangement in elements. Customers can chose which one they prefer.
Now all the logos has been completely finish and waiting for comments!! ^^
